Little Houses premiere goes off without a hitch.
The Little Houses premiere went off without a hitch. We played to a packed house and almost everyone that caught the flick came to the after-party. The LOST BAYOU RAMBLERS were awesome and people seemed to enjoy the atmosphere. You never know how this sort of thing is going to work out, but this event was complete success. So thank you to everyone that came, you rock!
Little Houses Premiere!
A documentary film I co-directed with filmmaker Zack Broussard and co-produced with producer Jeremy Broussard is going to make its big screen debut at the historic Rice Theatre in Crowley, Louisiana on May 1, 2009. If you live in Louisiana please come by and check it out. Proceeds from ticket purchases promote awareness of this unique phenomena worldwide, plus, your purchase funds the first-ever restoration effort of the last three remaining grave houses. Little Houses is a production of BENEFILMS, a nonprofit committed to making a better world through films that raise awareness and inspire action. The after party is going to be fun and the LOST BAYOU RAMBLERS will be providing our musical entertainment.
So head over to the film’s official site here, and watch the trailer and buy your ticket online.

Little Movies, Big Impact!
I was invited, along with other Louisiana filmmakers to talk about the impact that small-low budget films can have on the industry, and screen the trailer for the film Little Houses.
I had a great time talking about filmmaking with some extremely talented people, it was a honor. Keep reading for the official press release:

The advent of low cost, high quality production equipment has made it possible for small, independent filmmakers to reach larger audiences than ever. And these “little” movies can make a big difference – if they have aesthetic merit. We will screen “Rice and Gravy” and have the creators on hand to answer questions after the screening. In addition there will be a discussion led by Charles Richard, Director of the Cinematic Arts Workshop at UL, Conni Castille, Allison Bohl, and Donny Broussard about how small films can hit big audiences at festivals.

The film stars Deke Richards (300, Deaden) Amy Wickenheiser and is a bloody good time. You can read about the film’s acceptance in the festival on John’s site ARROW IN THE HEAD. I had a great time working with John and the entire cast and crew so make sure to head over to AITH for updates or hit up the film’s official site here or myspace page here.
